Catbug didnt have a mother and father, he was a plant that was born into a monster and then he became a cat bug beacause he was orhinaly a cat but a bug crawled in when he was forming in the cacoon

The above image was obviously fan-made, and I assume not meant to be taken too seriously. It's also worth mentioning that the episode explaining Catbug's origin, "The Dimension Garden" (s02e09), aired on 3/6/2014 and the above artwork would have been created at some point before that. I'm sure the original artist is hanging is head in shame at being proven wrong.
