I've been meaning to post some of Mikaël Aguirre's, A.K.A. Orioto's, videogame remake paintings on Apocalypse POW! practically since I started this blog, and the fact that I'm only getting around to it now is somewhat criminal. I chose to showcase the above three paintings because they seemed to adhere to the whole 3M (Mario, Megaman, Metroid) classic NES retro theme, but if you click over to his Deviantart gallery folder, you'll see his take on everything from Sonic to Limbo to Space Invaders. Also, do yourself a favour and check out all of the above in full-resolution, because the level of detail is absolutely astonishing and you just don't get the full effect from a shrunken-down thumbnail.
